Citrix Command Center

Command Center 5.2 is here with a whole suit of key features to make your life easier. It takes a step towards bringing ease to administrators managing multiple Development, Staging and Production deployments with “Deployment Automation” feature. This release brings an ease to Configuration Management with Minimal Touch CloudBridge deployment solution. The Configuration Management Module also introduces smooth configuration reuse with Selective Config Replicate feature. It provides enhanced first time user experience to ensure key requirements are taken in appropriately at the beginning. Also extends device management support to ByteMobile Traffic Director & CloudBridge 400/800 platform support. It puts across the right telemetry under one roof with NetScaler Performance Dashboard. The Fault Management module expands its wings from Notifiable alarms to Actionable Alarms. Beyond these key features, Command Center 5.2 introduces full set of enhancements across all its modules to bring the best to the market.

A: Yes, absolutely!

Q. Command Center can also monitoring XenServer Host?
A: No, Command Center does not monitor XenServer.

Q. Can we do some kind of monitoring of the storefront servers as well via Command centre?
A: No, Command Center is for our cloud networking products only. Full details were addressed in a seperate question.

Q. Is there a limit on the “free download” command center, or does it just depend on the hardware it runs on?
A: There is no defined limit. Its limit will be a function of how many devices are being managed and the underlying hardware and database capabilities.

Q. Is Command Center available as a VPX appliance?
A: Installable software or hardware appliances only, today.

Q. Did you say you can install command center on top of windows?
A: That is correct, Windows+MSSQL or RHEL/Centos + MySql. I am using Windows 2008R2 in my demo.

Q. Our Netscalers are in DMZ , Do we keep commandcenter in DMZ if not what ports are required for communication?
A: You definatly do not need to keep CC in the DMZ. The ports required for command center are detailed at this page

Q: Is command center free for NS 5000 users?
A: Yes it was addressed that CC is free for all NS editions. It comes with the standard, enterprise, and platinum licence.

Q: what is the license model for Command Center (software)?
A: There is no licensing for Command Center, it is/was EULA based.

Q: I have installed Command Center 5.1 on Windows + MySQL. This was not mentioned in possible scenario's in the slides. Is this still supported in version 5.2?

Q: Reporting logs of all users duration length of time logged in netscaler vpn
A: I'm 99% certain of this, yes. SSLVPN START, STOP and DURATION events are generated via syslog. SSLVPN connection logging can also be enabled.

Q: Do you know if command center 5.2 will also happily install on ubuntu 14.04?
A: No. Command Center is supported in Red Hat Enterprise Linux and CentOS. P: Download of Command Center 5.2 and NS Firmware 10.5 is both locked at citrix.com. What should I do?
A: NS 10.5 has not been released yet and the command center licensing model has recently changed *including the standard edition NS*. There is a private beta for 10.5 going now. Talk to your citrix representative for info.

Q: Can CC replicate two NetScaler's configurations? (For NS which are not in HA, useful for Amazon)

A: It may, but Citrix hasn't validated that.

Q: is this product nessecary when you have edgesight? with edgesight you can also send alerts
A: They do different things. Command Center monitors CloudBridge and NetScaler devices directly. EdgeSight monitors desktops, servers and published applications. Insight Center is also used for monitoring application performance.

Q: Can we do some kind of monitoring of the storefront servers as well via Command centre
A: Via NetScaler, yes. Use NetScaler to monitor StoreFront, it has a built-in health check for it.

Q: Is there a way we can monitor and report what kind of devices are being connected via the Netscaler?
A: This is better suited to Insight Center. Though if policies were created on NetScaler to trap specific user agents, then these policy hits could be reported on using Command Center.
